New Technology Brings New Marketing Ideas

Stay efficient, grow your medical practice while expanding your services using new 3D (3DO imaging technology) created by Digital Orthotics and the Quasar Group.

In today's world of managed care, competing for more patients and growing your medical practice has never been more demanding. Keeping the physician more efficient maintains profits and reduces overhead.
  • By using 3DO technology you can maximize efficiency and grow your medical practice using the 3DO Foot Imaging and Gait Analysis System
New Innovation Technology
The 3DO Foot Imager uses a new state of the art technology which combines the best of two worlds: namely, a 3D plantar surfacing technology combined with a sensitive and accurate 2D Gait Analysis platform, on one user friendly system which is portable, affordable and durable.
  • The 3DO operation is so simple, the doctor can now task out orthotic imaging and gait analysis to his back office staff, freeing up his or her time to focus on tasks that create profit for the medical practice.
  • This enables the physician or staff to efficiently use this advanced imaging technology to also perform electronic 3D casting without the plaster mess and the time it takes to tie up a treatment room.
  • In addition, the 3DO imager's robust visual graphics can be used as a wonderful tool to educate the patient as to what biomechanical and ergonomic patterns are creating disease, or injury to their feet and extremities, while at the same time documenting objective data for medical necessity and legal protection against malicious malpractice claims. Today, you would have to buy two separate imaging systems to do what the 3DO imager does. In addition, by having access to 3DO technology, you also become a Network Provider, which opens up your ability to tap into our North American 3DO Manufacturing Laboratory Alliance and other professional laboratories being trained and certified by the Quasar Group. Furthermore, all Network Providers gain access to new patients through Practice Development programs. For example, we have a nationwide marketing program with insurance companies and other markets, such as unions, to provide up to 1.4 million patient visits to Network Providers this year alone.
Our goal is to provide economic growth to the medical profession and help you use medical grade foot orthotics and Bioengineered Devices to grow your medical practice and help the millions of Americans who do not have access to orthotic therapy. We believe Physicians should be the "gait" keepers of these new emerging markets, so we promote Physicians as the Specialists in this country.

According to Dr Craig Lowe, CEO and President of Digital Orthotics and Quasar Group, "Restricted access to orthotics by patients has now changed." The demands for using plaster casting are quickly coming to an end.

Improving Orthotic Manufacturing Quality
"By using artificial intelligence and new engineering technology, the world of plaster casting and all of the inherent errors in making orthotics has been significantly reduced," states Dr. Craig Lowe, who is in charge of Quasar's Research and Development. The 3DO technology platform is very robust and simple to use, which opens up the ability to have a level data capture playing field every time. This stable consistency gives the doctor and production laboratory more information, such as mass displacement, pressure analysis, motion analysis and 3D surfacing. "Now the production technicians can see everything the doctor sees in his office," states Dr. Lowe. First ray hypermobility, equinus, functional and anatomical abnormalities and more are now seen in real time using 3DO production software. This allows for "Functional Manufacturing" using State of the Art technology, such as NC Routing of either the orthotic shell itself or the positive cast.

According to Dr. Lowe, who has owned and operated many orthotic production labs, there are many potential points of error (27 identified in the side bar on pg. 219) in making an orthotic that can interfere with the therapeutic results the physician is trying to achieve. This situation has led to a industry return rate of around 15% nationwide.

The 3DO manufacturing platform is very robust, versatile and stable. Production laboratories can make custom orthotics using a variety of established and recognized manufacturing methods, from thermo pressing to milling. "What we have also done is create manufacturing software and manufacturing protocols which reduce many of the errors commonly seen in plaster production," states Dr. Lowe. "We also have developed a state-of-the-art lean manufacturing pathway so that the production labs can manufacture products better and faster than ever before. By virtue of our user and manufacturing software, we can reduce errors and have a clearer communication pathway on orders. As a result of our advancements in manufacturing, we see less production errors and fewer returns. Our annual return rate is less than 1%. As a result, all of our Network Labs guarantee their products and services to the doctor."

E-Commerce
Using the Internet to maximize reordering is another profit center for your practice. Should you choose to use Web-based reordering of products, the 3DO systems are ideal for this application. Simply providing you access to scan production orders gives you more options for growth.
